Got Questions?
Can I bring my children?
Yes! This event is all-ages. Teenagers are especially appreciated. If you have a little one making a distracting amount of noise, there are a couple of side rooms you can take them where they can play without needing to be quiet.
Is there any food/drink available at the event?
No, there are no food or drinks available or allowed at The Bridge Yard. Please eat dinner beforehand. You are encouraged to bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated while we sing.
What's the timing/flow of the event?
We suggest arriving by 6:45pm to say hello and settle in. We'll start singing at 7pm. Arriving on time is highly encouraged! If you arrive late, we kindly ask that you enter quietly, between songs. We open with the same song every month. Each choir/songleader will lead for 15 mins or so, uplifting songs of their choosing that are already commonly known or easy to pick up. There may be some improvised singing as well. We wrap up at 9pm, closing with the same song every month.
Is The Bridge Yard wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The venue has ADA approved entrances and bathrooms. If you have other accessibility needs, feel free to contact us to discuss.
Do I need to have any kind of experience, be a talented singer, or do any advance preparation to participate?
Not at all. This is a chance to unleash your voice for the joy of it, regardless of how it sounds. Feel free to sing loudly and off key. Feel free to sing lalalala instead of the words. Feel free to sing for how it feels on the inside, not how it sounds on the outside. If you are the kind of person who likes learning songs in advance so you can gleefully belt things out, we'll have a playlist each month so you can learn all the songs and find fun parts to sing. If that kind of thing is not your jam, all good. Just show up and sing out!
